Apologies

For not posting much lately.

We've been camping and to a family reunion for Mr. Scrap. That was in Virginia and it was so much cooler than here, what a relief.

What is it about water that just makes things seem cooler?

We had company over the weekend, my grand has been here a lot and she was sick while here, sharing her bug with me.

These cute little boys came to visit and had so much fun.

We dug out a bunch of Liv's "Little People" and the kids had so much fun with them.

We've been swimming. We have a little above ground pool that could be deeper but its kinda sloping down the hill a bit. But its wet and on these hot days it feels great.

We have another trip coming up and I can't wait.

There will be sand, an ocean, and one of my favorite cities there.

Pictures when we get back.

Just a few random pictures.

I've been busy with some things for work. I'm ready for a break.

Cherry jam I made. I love making jams and jellies, they are really easy.

Spider web hen and chicks. I just had to have this plant. Kinda cool.

Outdoor Wednesday July 7

The aliens have landed.

They were frightened by a giant human.

Who later turned out to just want to take them home to play another day.

My granddaughter loves to make stuffies. She drew the design for these and then I had to make the pattern and do the stitching.

(Not much going on in the way of flowers-I think its just too hot for them).

I love it when plants "volunteer" to grow again. There are coleous in my flower pots that seeded from last year.

I'm trying to get some lilies and iris to come up from seed. We'll see.

34 years ago today July 5th 1976

This little blonde haired blue-eyed baby came into our lives.

We were young and had no idea what it was going to be like being parents, but I knew I wanted her.

With my grandmother.

With my parents and my great-grandmother.

With her dad, long before his hair turned grey.

34 years have flown by.

I won't tell you being a mother has always been easy.

But then being a daughter isn't always easy either.

She has always loved animals (and now has 3 dogs, 3 cats, a couple geckoes, goldfish and a guinea pig).

She loves the beach.

Her wedding day.

Sadly, her marriage ended in divorce, but her ex is my granddaughter's daddy and he'll always be "my son".

She is a great mom.

She can find the most amazing things while thrifting.

She is in college now and doing great

She is very witty and funny.

Some random favorite pictures of her.
The little blonde in the picture with the books is my niece Kaylea.

Rebecca and Sam. Her new love (not my granddaughter's dad).

Happy Birthday Rebecca
