A Valentine for you

My momma

This was the day before Thanksgiving my Thanksgiving dinner.

My mom has COPD, liver disease and now cancer in her mouth.

I want to think its small and easily cured.

But I'm a pediatric oncolgy nurse. I know what cancer is and what it does and what the treatments do.

I feel like I'm standing on the egde of a cliff.

She goes for a MRI next week. Then the next to the oncologist. I got one of the head nurses to change my work schedule so I can go with her.

Another blast of winter

I was so excited the other day when I saw green shoots coming up in my flower beds. Then last night old man winter blasted more cold and snow at us. We only ended up with about an inch. Enough to make schools start later or close depending on what area they are in.

The sun is shining and its melting fast.

Can spring really be on its way now?
