Christmas decorating

I'm decorating the house.
I got rid of my big tree that took forever to put together
and got one of those hinged prelit trees.
It was so much easier.
Pre-decorations.
I added 2 strands of the ball type lights.
Decorated.
I didn't realize the trash can was in this picture. Oh well.
This is the tree my grandmother made.

I am not sure what this look was all about.

But I love this picture.

She is such a joy in our lives.

As is her sister who just started 8th grade this year.

Thirteen Years Ago Today

This little lady came into our lives
happy, happy birthday Livvie.
We love you.

Those moments you want to always remember.

Sisters

The little one spent the night here for the first time. She did great. I was afraid there
would be tears for her momma but she is always so happy at being at
Nannie's house.
There is this huge tree at the end of our porch. It is my favorite tree and under it there is
a space that is perfect for sisters to play in the
secret fairy place.

I love this picture of the two of them,
They were talking and the little one was making
mud pies out of dirt and grass.
But they were too hot so she told her sister to
be careful.
Definitely going to use this picture on a scrapbook page for each of their books.

One of these days

I will get my ducks in a row and start posting here
But
I have to admit I seem to like reading
Better than writing.
But
I always like taking pictures.
We were at my daughter's the other day and oldest
grand was blowing bubble gum bubbles.
Youngest grand was adorable trying to figure out what that was
all about.
I adore the two of them. They make me smile.

The trees are down and the decorations packed away.

I have to admit it makes me sad packing away all the decorations.
I have things that were gifts, things I've bought, things I've made, things my daughter and nieces made.
I even have a couple cross stitch things my mom made.
I also have my mother's first tree.
I love having something my grandmother held on to for many years.
Christmas gets here and I always feel like there are so many things I should have done.
I made one kind of cookie this year.
That is it.
I tried a new recipe for a cake which was good but was just so time consuming.
I decided this past Thanksgiving and Christmas I have to streamline my cooking.
I was exhausted.
Of course I was also sick off and on for weeks.

Anyway just a few random pictures cause I like them.

And it is so cold here.

In the teens this morning.

This is a slice of the Peppermint Cheesecake cake I made.
It was very good.
From the Southern Living website.

I accidentally left this up and think I will leave it until we get
a Southern Snow.

I love this picture of #1 granddaughter when she was around #2s age.
