Scottish Shortbread Cookies
I think I've found the perfect shortbread cookie recipe. They were so easy to make, too.
Recipe from Taste of the South cooking magazine (one of my must have cooking magazines) courtesy of Lynda Borden
1 cup salted butter softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups all purpose flour
Preheat oven to 300
In a large bowl combine butter and sugar-beat until light and fluffy, approx 4 minutes.
Add flour stir til combined.
Pat dough into 13x9 inch pan or shortbread mold.
Bake until light golden brown 30-40 minutes.
Remove from oven. Pierce with a fork all over in a zigzag pattern to allow steam to escape.
Cut into bars while still warm, cool in pan.
These are so easy and so good. My friend's son told me he wants them for his birthday.

Mmmmm!! that looks delish!
ReplyDeleteI know, aren't the kids so sweet? It makes me want to shout from the rooftops that they need to be adopted! IF I could, I'd bring them all home :)
Merry Christmas
xoxo
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet note! And when you do get a Cricut, you will love it! In many ways it has made me much more creative, because the possibilities are endless! I got mine for Christmas last year . . . it had been a tough year, culminating in the loss of my sweet Daddy in Sept. and my hubby wanted to get one for me because he knew how badly I wanted one, but wouldn't let him spend that much money! We found one on Black Friday for less than 1/2 of MSRP. Once again, thank you for visiting, and thanks for the shortbread recipe - I'm going to make that very soon! Also, adding you to my blog roll so I can keep in touch! Becky G. in Cumming, GA
ReplyDeleteThank you Becky. I've made the shortbread twice already. It is so good. That's so sweet of your hubby. And I'm so sorry about your dad.
