July

June and July were busy months with three trips, trying to stay cool in the heat, canning and freezing things from the garden, working, etc.

I canned lots of green beans.

We had lots of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, squash and corn. Then the weather got so hot and dry the veggies just didn't do so well.

I did freeze a lot of sweet Georgia corn.

I'm already thinking about next year's garden. Raised beds. Some kind of watering system. More flowers.

The flowers usually start looking better in August. It starts cooling off and raining more.

  1. When I retire I want to have a vegetable garden. Right now I only have time for flowers and herbs. We do have one little tomato plant. All your veggies look wonderful.

    1. My hubby does the hard part of the gardening. He likes it he grew up in KY and his dad was a coal miner. They raised as much of their food as they can.

  2. Nothing like good veggies any time you want some. I never did can but my mother used to and we'd have veggies and blackberries all winter long! :)
Thanks for popping in to see me.
